Well Sam started his radiation treatment finally. Mom is not happy that she cant be with him during the week cause of work and he has to go out of town for the treatments.
He had to get an apartment near the hospital. Its hard on them both I think. Excpecially with Sam having to do Chemo at the same time as the radiation.
They had thought he would only have to do three chemo sessions but that is not going to happen now.. He is going to have to go through the full round. They had to remove all of his bottom teeth as well because the radiation, the doctors have said, will destroy them from the roots up. So Sam had the surgery to remove the tumor and they where able to remove 95% of it, the remaining 5% can't be removed without complications. Throat cancer is a horrible thing to go through I am told. At least he has stopped smoking.
Mom wants to thump Sam's daughter upside the head by the way. She has become all motherly and trying to push my mother out of the way, so to speak, so she can take care of her father. I can understand Angela's need to take care of her father, he is sick and its pretty bad, but please.. Give my mother some respect and go do it at the apartment not in my Mothers house. That just gets me worked up more so then I already am at the moment.
Oh and Ang, just because you are deciding you have to take care of him, does not mean he is going to pay you to do so. You got yourself into your own mess and can dig your way out, oh yeah.. Yes I know all about it and darling I am not all that far away, I can be there in less then 7 hours and I have money for gas. Keep that in mind. Want to take care of him for the right reasons, not for what you can get out of it. You do, after all, have a brand new baby to think of.
Sam is a good guy. He puts up with my mother, love ya mom, and keeps her company. He puts up with my little sister and her brood, he..hi shan, which can be interesting at times. He puts up with Jen and her brood when they fly in from Florida. Hell he even puts up with me and my brood now that we are not cross country.
I hope that Sam gets better, that all of this works. Mom said that they would never get married as she isn't doing that again, she is perfectly happy just the way they are and I support that. Especially since mom has had to bury one husband already, we still miss you Rex, and I do not think she wants to go through all the drama surrounding that kind of stuff again should Sam no make it.
Though knowing my mother, it does not matter. Keep strong mom, keep safe and doing what you are doing and what you can. Keep your spirits up Sam, we have you firmly in our thoughts and prayers.
